Fixed an issue with incorrect initialisation in kpmMatching. Multi-NFT mode (currently implemented only in libARWrapper) which has been unavailable since ARToolKit v5.3, has been re-enabled thanks to work by GitHub users atoyk, VladVuk, deight, and stained. Template marker pattern files now consistently have the suffix ".patt". Improved interface to genMarkerSet, the utility for generating a multi-marker from a JPEG image of the set.

Android: Some new examples: ARMarkerDistance showing how to calculate the distance between two markers, ARSimpleOpenGLES20 showing use of OpenGL ES 2.0 in Java code, and ARDistanceOpenGLES20 showing combining these capabilities.

Android: native arUtil.c function that pulls Android Dev ID from Android static class running on JavaVM. Linux: configuration now allows choice of c++ compiler between g++/libstdc++, or Clang/libc++. iOS: Added camera configs for iPhone 6, 6s, 6s Plus, and iPad mini 4. Linux: Video4Linux v2 devices are now supported directly (previous support was via GStreamer) with new module VideoLinuxV4L2. This will be the last release supporting Eclipse. Projects are in AndroidStudioProjects, and a comprehensive migration guide is included. Android: Android Studio is fully supported. Android: Updated to cURL 7.48 and OpenSSL 1.0.1s. Android: Added the documentation of ARBaseLib to the AndroidStudio project. OS X: The bundled OpenCV has been updated to OpenCV v3.1. Android: The EclipseProjects directory has now been removed. As OpenVRML has been unmaintained for some time, support for VRML has been removed from ARToolKit. The 'buffLuma' field of AR2VideoBufferT now points to the luminance-only channel. Correspondingly, arDetectMarker now accepts a pointer to an AR2VideoBufferT.

arVideoGetImage now returns a pointer to an AR2VideoBufferT structure, rather than a raw pointer to a pixel buffer.
ERROR OCCURED INITIALIZING QUICKTIME ESKO STUDIO WINDOWS
Android: native builds should now be possible on Windows using git-bash rather than cygwin bash.
ERROR OCCURED INITIALIZING QUICKTIME ESKO STUDIO CODE
In libKPM, bugfix to add initializing code for bottom line.

Android: Handle whitespace in NDK package revision detection. Android: calib_optical is now automatically built along with the other native code. Fixes to build.sh and related Android MK files to work on git bash on Windows. Added ar2VideoGetCParamAsync support on iOS. In order of preference, use: parameter file bytes, parameter file name, ar2VideoGetCparam, ar2VideoGetCParamAsync, default parameters. Improved camera parameter handling in ARWrapper. Added support for the '-loglevel=' command-line parameter to all command-line utilities. Where a video module cannot produce luma-only in an optimal way, a separate optimised routine for ARM, ARM64 and x86 SSE CPUs will produce one.

This has allowed for a number of internal optimisations in libAR and libKPM. The video library libARvideo now guarantees production of a luminance channel, potentially alongside any colour channel(s). Data files which were previously stored in subdirectories of the "bin" directory are now stored in share/artoolkit-utils (for data relevant to the utilities) and share/artoolkit-examples (for data relevant to the examples). QTKit), 'LinuxDV', 'WinDF', ''WinDS', 'WinDSVL'. The following video modules have been removed: 'QUICKTIME', 'QuickTime7' (i.e. On macOS and iOS, the default is 'AVFoundation', and on Windows 'WinMF'. In video configuration strings, the token '-device=' has been replaced with '-module=' to better represent the function of the token. Support for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 SP1 has been dropped. Numerous minor correctness fixes as a result of detailed static analysis. Currently implemented only in the AVFoundation module (iOS and macOS) but other modules will be supported in the future. Notification of availability of incoming video frames is now implemented via a callback which is passed into arVideoCapStartAsync/ar2VideoCapStartAsync. arUtilChangeToResourcesDirectory(AR_UTIL_RESOURCES_DIRECTORY_BEHAVIOR_BEST, NULL) will correctly locate these for the examples. Resource data is now split into per-application subfolders of 'share'. Logging functions (ARLOG and friends) are now in libARUtil. Note that libARUtil has no dependencies on the other ARToolKit libraries.

libARUtil has been overhauled, with a number of utility-related functions moved out of various ARToolKit code. Changes in version 5.4 (this release) ().
